Go Green

Hey lovelies,

Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far! I’m incredibly excited and terrified all at the same time as I started a new job yesterday. Change is something that is inevitable but somehow I always struggle with it even though I also embrace it! I’m weird, I know, definitely a walking contradiction. I will keep you posted on how it goes once I fully form an opinion about it. For now the jury is still out and I’m still the office newbie!

Moving on swiftly, I thought I’d share with you my go green winter inspired outfit even though it’s still autumn but feels more like winter. I took these shots at the onset of autumn just incase anyone is thinking how can you wear that in the cold? If you are a frequent reader of my blog, I’m sure you’ve heard me say this before but I love being comfortable. Comfort is my number one consideration for all my outfits. I hate wearing stuff that makes me self concious. I like putting something on and forgetting about it. Not worrying if my boobs look too big, too tight or if my belly is showing(yes I have one and yes I am currently working on getting rid of it……permanently)

So anyway if you follow my Instagram (@kiriishchronicles – follow button below – thanks in advance) you will have seen me wearing this emerald green skirt a few times. I absolutely love it and by far this is my favourite go to skirt in the summer. Pair with a crop top for a flirty look or a t-shirt for casual chic or lace for a day glamorous look. I chose to wear the skirt with a polo neck body suit for a more regal look. To make the colour pop even more I added a green necklace statement piece and red lipstick..

This look is somewhat a bit glamorous and perfect for those summer evenings be it at a house party or rooftop terrace enjoying a drink with friends. I love maxi skirts/dresses you name it for not only the comfort but they hide so many sins of my body and also cover up the shoe element of the outfit if your shoes aren’t on point. I’m not saying don’t wear banging sandals but let’s just say you can get away with it.

I think this is by far my favourite shade of green. Emerald just oozes sophistication for me and I think it suits every skin colour. Celebrities who have won this shade like my baes Solange at the 2014 Grammys, Lupita at the 2014 BAFTAs and Scarlett Johansson at the 2015 Oscars all rocked this colour as you can see.

Wishing you all a blessed week and let me know what you think about this post or what you’d like to see! My main aim is to show that simplicity for me is definitely the way to go when it comes to fashion. The rest is all up to you and how you carry yourself. I would love to engage more with all of you lovely people so please please do leave a comment or just inbox me.

Blessings to you and yours.
